Open House! August 24

Mann Library will be celebrating the completion of its transformation into a 21st century research facility with a series of special events over the 2007/2008 academic year. On August 24, 2007 we’ll kick off our celebration with an Open House from 12 to 5 pm. Cornell students, faculty, and staff are warmly invited to come see our progress as the final stages of the renovation process draw to a close. Please join us for tours, live performances by some of Cornell’s favorite groups, hors d’oeuvres by Manndible Café fun door prizes, and much more.

Also mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 18 when the inaugural exhibit the new Mann Gallery on the 2nd floor of the renovated library will open. An installation by Jeni Wightman will offer new views of her project exploring the relationships between science and art (see http://martha.mannlib.cornell.

for a virtual view of the project). Please join us in the Mann Gallery on 9/18, 4 pm for a reception and a talk on Jeni’s work by artist and Cornell professor of art Buzz Spector.

Additional events and exhibits celebrating Mann Library’s renaissance will continue through the fall and the rest of the year—check back again soon for dates and updates!
